We have arrived safely at our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale. All 33 checked bags arrived. The bags are a lot of work moving around, but we are doing this as service!
We leave the hotel at 4am and should arrive in Haiti by 8am. (Or so...).

First group leaves in under 24 hours
Happy Memorial Day!
For many of us this day will be spent with family, but also finishing up last minute items as we leave at 5:45am tomorrow morning. Lots of little things to wrap up, last minute paperwork that people are getting in, and final packing. Jamie G. has gone on ahead of us to prepare the way--of course that makes him sound like John the Baptist and our group like Jesus--which is definitely not the case.
As we've prepared and read materials, we've been reminded that we are NOT the saviors going to Haiti to save. We are going to simply serve along side other great people who will do much more than we will for the people/children of Haiti. To God be the glory!

Packing Has Commenced
Today Evan T. helped me and we got all of the group #1 luggage ready to go--all 31 suitcases! Now we just need to add the cary-ons and we can get on the road. Almost ready for Tuesday.

Introduction
Greetings! I'm getting this blog set up so that those who are interested in Solid Rock's "Team Haiti" and our activities can follow what is going on. While we are gone we will not be able to use up lots of bandwith at Children of the Promise, so I will blog to keep family and friends up to date about how everyone is doing.
May 31 our first team will set out to COTP in Haiti, and on Monday, June 27 or last group will return home.
Thanks for all your prayers and support.
